Joe and I ate dinner at a local gourmet Mexican restaurant last weekend with a couple of friends. Everyone enjoyed their dinner – I even enjoyed mine although it arrived with many apologies after everyone else had finished their meal. Oh, the problems of running a restaurant!
But if my cell phone camera was better, you would see that it was well worth the wait. I ordered pork tenderloin with a fig and port wine sauce, arugula salad, and poblano rice. Delicious.
I don’t usually bring my regular camera out to restaurants because it often feels a little tacky to pull it out for a pic, especially when we’re out with other people. Oh, here comes the food blogger telling the world what she ate. Smile for the camera pork on a plate. Of course, when it’s just us, I snap away with my real camera because my family already realizes just how tacky I am.
A cell phone, on the other hand, is so much more discreet. I could be sitting and checking my email and text messages on it instead of taking a photo of my meal, all much more socially acceptable activities because, doesn’t everyone do that now?
Sadly, my cell phone is three years old with an old limited camera. Someday, when my memory is entirely filled to the point of locking the phone (which it’s on the verge of doing) there will be a new phone is my pocket, and better restaurant pictures on this site. All for you, of course, dear readers.
