I’m so sorry this post is up so late – it’s almost time for next week’s challenge! I created this tile on Thursday, but then yesterday happened. A combination of computer problems where my photo didn’t want to load, combined with Junior Prom prevented this from getting posted! Hours spent at the salon with Louisa as she prepared for prom last night, followed by picture-taking of Louisa and her friend group yesterday evening, kind of swallowed up the day!
This week’s Diva Challenge #262 was to use the tangle Fassett, created by Lynn Mead. I’ve never seen this one before, although at first it reminded me of Tripoli. But as I worked with it, and played with it, it revealed itself to be a completely different creature, blossoming into these lovely flower shapes. Or do you still see the triangles? I love this type of tangle that changes as you change your focus!
I wasn’t sure when I began whether this would be a monotangle, and so I put down a multi-section string on my tile when I began. As my Fassett progressed, that little pocket at the bottom begged to have a Pepper fill it. That flowed into the Meer at the bottom, Purk above the Meer, finishing with good ol’ Florz in the top left corner. It’s funny how these patterns develop when you get into the flow of tangling.
I really enjoyed Fassett and I’m so glad the Diva introduced me to it in this week’s challenge!
Thanks for stopping by and any comments you leave.
