Today is Earth Day, a perfect day to celebrate Mother Earth. Nearly everything is in bloom and there’s no doubt that it’s time to put away winter coats. I’ll ignore the temptation to tuck away our lightweight jackets, because today’s 80 degrees are making a temporary, unseasonal appearance in honor of the day.
Keeping with this spring-y mood, the Diva this week has challenged us (Challenge #264) to use a spring as our string! Isn’t she clever? However, I was more challenged this week than I expected to be. The tangling areas created by a spring string (I dare you to say that 10 x fast) left me puzzled for a few days. Finally, I pulled out a tangle pattern that I rarely use, Gneiss, to fill the ovals created by the spring. After that it felt like the spring string needed to be covered with something, and that something became Beadline. Finally, the corners and edges felt too empty, and I decided to fill them with Knightsbridge, another tangle pattern I don’t use very often.
I’m not sure how much I like the final result. I think my biggest problem is the shape of my spring. Good thing these challenges change every week!
Have a beautiful Earth Day! Thanks for stopping by.
