This week the Diva gave us a duo-tangle challenge for Diva Challenge #276. In other words we were challenged to use two tangles, Drupe and Pokeroot. This isn’t a combination that I would have ever thought up on my own. And yet, the more I played with it, the more I had fun. That’s why I decided to do two tiles for this challenge.
I started with the one on the left which was actually done on my lap while waiting for Louisa at her voice lesson. I was really just warming up to the challenge, but decided to combine the two tangles, literally, by filling the large center Pokeroots with Drupe. I worked until I felt it was done. I don’t normally leave that much white space, but it just felt like there was nothing more to do, so why clutter up things for the sake of filling the tile.
The second tile was created on a proper table, and look where that led me! I played, I filled, I darkened, shaded and kept going until this one felt “done” too. Obviously it took much longer in this case. I was like a woman possessed.
I polled my family on which one they preferred and, par for the course, we were split down the middle. So, I ask you, which do you like better, the simple tile or the crazy one?
Thanks for visiting!
