I almost called this post Back-to-School Part 2, because registration is open for my fall Zentangle® classes, a return to the classroom, but for fun and relaxation as opposed to high school and college. I promise, there won’t be any tests or papers in my class! Once again, I am offering two sessions, Monday evenings at 5:45pm, and Tuesday mornings at 9:30am. They will be held at the lovely Ripa Center for Women’s Health and Fitness. To register, visit the Ripa Center registration page, and please spread the word to any friends who you think might be interested in joining us, as well.
Speaking of Zentangle, I’m back to trying the Diva’s Challenge this week. I was going to do last week’s challenge, which was to create a string by spilling something on my tile, but I was unsuccessful in making my spills create tangling areas. On the other hand, this blue splattered tile is one of the results of last week’s attempt. I used a spray ink on a tile, but instead of creating a string, it made this lovely blue background which was too good to waste! I guess this week’s tile is in some ways a combination of two challenges.
This week’s Diva Challenge #283 is a UMT (or Use My Tangle) challenge. We were asked to create a tile using the pattern Centre Square by Aleesha Sattva, CZT. This was such a fun, bold tangle to play with. I added Shattuck to break up the bold sections but also Crescent Moon and Stricles. In addition to having fun with such bold patterns, I really enjoyed the blue background. I may spill some color on a few other tiles for future challenges.
Thanks for visiting!
