I like to do the Diva’s weekly challenges ON TIME. But some months ON TIME just isn’t in the cards for me. I know, that emphasis with caps was completely unnecessary for you. But I had to shout it to myself to drill in the importance of making the effort.
In this case, however, my delay in getting around to last week’s challenge actually worked in my favor. Somehow the combination of the two challenges produced a result that I’m very happy with. Last week’s Diva Challenge #289 challenged us to use a leaf as our string. I was very excited and it wasn’t too hard during one of my walks with Pepper to find the perfect leaf to fit a tile.
I traced the leaf, put aside that tile, and didn’t pick it up again until this Monday, too late to include in last week’s challenge. I planned to tangle it sometime… ah, that glorious day of sometime. The day when all the things get done. And then, I took a look at this week’s Diva Challenge #290, which is to create a duo-tangle tile using ‘Nzepple and Flux. Hmm, what would I do with those bread-and-butter tangles? And then I looked back at my leaf, and it called to me. And I picked up my pen deciding to begin by tracing the outline. But the pen I lifted wasn’t black but brown! Unintentional. But perfect, in my opinion. And I traced the leaf, and added a base of flux, and ‘Nzepple-d in the leaf, and finally added details in black.
Mistakes, delays, non-intentional acts, and the beauty of going where Zentangle takes us. To a happy place.
Have a great week.
